WASHINGTON, DC— The Electronic Payments Coalition (EPC) recently completed a three-part video series as part of its “Guard Your Card” campaign. The new campaign and videos alert Americans to the risks posed by the Durbin-Marshall Credit Card Bill. The new government mandates in the proposed legislation threaten to eliminate credit card rewards programs, weaken consumer data security, and decrease access to credit for those who need it most.
Each video in the “Guard Your Card” series addresses one of these themes. The seven-figure video ad campaign started running across digital platforms and on television in Washington, DC, and throughout the country in August and will continue throughout the year. The “Guard Your Card” campaign encourages Americans to continue writing their Members of Congress in opposition to the Durbin-Marshall Credit Card Bill.

EPC Executive Chairman Richard Hunt released the following statement about the progress of the campaign:
“Americans are making their voices heard – more than two million letters have flooded Congress opposing the Durbin-Marshall Credit Card Bill. EPC is proud to activate even more Americans with the launch of our new ‘Guard Your Card’ campaign video series. It is clear Americans value their credit card and trust the current system. The Durbin-Marshall mandates would harm consumers by calling current data protections, rewards, and credit access into question just to line the pockets of corporate mega-stores who stand to benefit the most from these new mandates on your credit card.”
